Η Magdi Ruzsa θα τραγουδήσει για την Ουγγαρία το Unsubstantial blues. Η εθνική ουγγρική τηλεόραση MTV (καμία σχέση με το γνωστό μουσικό κανάλι) έχει παρουσιάσει ελάχιστο ενδιαφέρον για το διαγωνισμό τα τελευταία χρόνια και φέτος χρησιμοποίησε ένα βραβείο μουσικής για να επιλέξει την υποψηφιότητα της, παρά να διοργανώσει επίσημο εθνικό τελικό.

Έξι ήταν οι υποψήφιοι για να αντιπροσωπεύσουν την Ουγγαρία στο διαγωνισμό τραγουδιού της Eurovision του 2007, οι οποίοι αποτελούσαν τους υποψήφιους ενός μουσικού βραβείου. Η Magdi κέρδισε την κατηγορία "πρωτοεμφανιζόμενης της χρονιάς" στα ουγγρικά βραβεία μουσικής Fonogram και μαζί το εισιτήριο για την eurovision.

Στους τήλε-ψηφοφόρους του βραβείου προσφέρθηκε η επιλογή για το ποιος πρέπει να τραγουδήσει στον ημιτελικό του διαγωνισμού για την Ουγγαρία. Νικήτρια, με μόλις δεκαέξι ψήφους, ήταν η Magdi Ruzsa. Σε αυτή τη φάση, οι θεατές επέλεγαν μόνο τον ερμηνευτή και δεν είχαν καμία ιδέα για το τραγούδι.
